This picture is from a group photograph taken at Ft. Rucker, Alabama sometime between March and September 1943

T/Sgt Aalbu was wounded in action on August 3, 1944 when he suffered shrapnel wounds to his right arm.  He returned to duty November 13, 1944 after recuperating from his wounds.  He was again wounded in action December 8, 1944 and died of his wounds the following day, December 9, 1944. He is buried at Anderson Cemetery in Stanwood, Washington.
