Frank Herbert Clemmer was born in Pennsylvania on June 3, 1913. He registered for the draft on October 16, 1940. At the time he was living in Portland, Oregon and working at the Rose City Distribution Company. His draft registration shows he was 5' 9" tall, weighed 145 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair, and a ruddy complexion. Pfc Frank H Clemmer served as a rifleman in the Second Platoon, Company L. He landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy on July 6, 1944. He was Killed in Action during the battle for St Lo, France on July 17, 1944. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville -sur-Mer, France.
