Donald Chester Cobb, son of Chester Ely and Blanche Brunette (Richey) Cobb, was born June 3, 1924 in Stockton, New York. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 and was inducted into the Army December 17, 1943 at Buffalo, New York. He joined Company F, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 38th Replacement Battalion on August 28, 1944. He was seriously wounded by shell fragments on September 29, 1944, treated at the 2nd Battalion Aid Station and the 110th Medical Clearing Station, then transferred to the 35th Evacuation Hospital. On September 29, 1944, the day he was wounded, the 134th Infantry Regiment was fighting in the vicinity of Han and Fossieux, France. Pvt Donald C Cobb died of his wounds September 30, 1944. He is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredonia, New York.
