Pvt Henry A Haines

134th Infantry Regiment - Company G

Henry Adelbert Haines was born October 3, 1911 in Oconto, Wisconsin. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and working at the Rex Chain Belt Company. He entered the Army in 1943 and joined Company G, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 86th Replacement Battalion July 17, 1944. Two days later he was wounded in action by a shell blast on July 19 in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He returned to duty August 19, 1944. Pvt Henry A Haines was initially reported missing and later confirmed killed in action September 14, 1944 in the vicinity of Flavigny, France. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
