134th Infantry Regiment - Company B

William Louis Horvath, son of Samuel and Bertha (Dorkus) Horvath, was born June 20, 1922 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. His father died when he was 6 years old. He moved to Connecticut with his mother sometime in 1929 or 1930. He registered for the draft June 27, 1942 when he was a 20 year old student living in Norwalk, Connecticut and joined Company B, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 38th Replacement Battalion October 1, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of Leyr, France. Pfc William L Horvath was killed in action by enemy artillery fire in the vicinity of Brin-Sur-Seille, France on October 16, 1944. He is buried at Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmgate, New York.
