134th Infantry Regiment - Company C

Lloyd E Hubbard, son of Roy Otmar and Viola May (Stevens) Hubbard, was born in Nebraska on April 10, 1922. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard and was inducted into the Army December 23, 1940 at Beatrice, Nebraska. He served in Company C, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed on Omaha Beach, Normandy, France on July 5, 1944. He was wounded in action by shrapnel on July 16, 1944 during the battle for St Lo but he remained on duty. He was promoted from Private First Class to Sergeant on August 13, 1944. Originally reported missing in action, it was later confirmed that he was Killed in Action on September 10, 1944 along the Moselle River south of Nancy, France. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, St Avold, France.
