Jacob Jacoby, son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Irick) Jacoby, was born November 14, 1916 in Nebraska. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard, mobilized to Federal service December 23, 1940 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He served as an Armorer in Headquarters Platoon, Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. T/5 Jacob Jacoby was struck and killed by small arms fire in the vicinity of St Lo, France July 15, 1944. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville sur Mer, France.
