134th Infantry Regiment - Medical Detachment

John Stanley Jarmusz, son of Andrew Casimer and Anastasia (Knopa) Jarmusz, was born May 11, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and served in the Medical Detachment, 134th Infantry Regiment. He landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy, France on July 6, 1944 and was promoted to Technician 5th Grade September 6, 1944. T/5 John S Jarmusz was originally reported missing and later confirmed killed in action by a shell blast in the vicinity of Nancy, France on September 19, 1944. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France
