Edgar Guest Jennings, son of Harry Clay and Gertrude M (Fenstermacher) Jennings, was born February 7, 1924 in Cressona, Pennsylvania. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942, enlisted in the Army March 20, 1943 at Allentown, Pennsylvania and trained at Camp Polk, Louisiana before departing for the ETO in late May 1944. He joined Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Scout from the 86th Replacement Battalion July 20, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He transferred to Company L August 19, 1944 and was promoted to Sergeant, Squad Leader. Sgt Edgar G Jennings was initially reported missing September 17, 1944 in the vicinity of Nancy, France and was later confirmed killed in action by small arms fire on that date. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
