134th Infantry Regiment - Company I

William Cambra Jerves, son of Joe Cambra and Claudina (Freitas) Jerves, was born March 22, 1906 in Hanamaulu, Hawaii. He was a member of the Hawaiian National Guard mobilized to Federal Service October 15, 1940. He joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 86th Replacement Battalion July 20, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of St Lo, France. Pfc William C Jerves died January 15, 1944 near Clochimont, Belgium, about 4 miles southeast of Bastogne, when the 1/4 ton truck he was driving skidded on an icy road and overturned. He is buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg.
