Vincent Wilson Johnson, son of John and Gertrude Greta (Lindvall) Johnson, was born on January 13, 1919, in Wheaton, Minnesota. He registered for the draft on October 16, 1940, at the age of 21, while working at Potter Drug in Wheaton. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 24, 1942, and served in the Headquarters Platoon, Company B, 134th Infantry Regiment. Sgt Vincent W Johnson landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy, France, on July 5, 1944. He was killed in action by shell blast fragments on July 15, 1944, near Saint Lo, France. He is buried at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton, Minnesota.
