Henry Milford Jones, son of Henry Joseph and Velma (Cole) Jones, was born October 8, 1922 in Simpson County, Mississippi. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 and enlisted in the Army March 3, 1943 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. He married Gency Irene Middleton sometime prior to his enlistment. He joined Company M, 134th Infantry Regiment as an Ammunition Handler from the 86th Replacement Battalion July 21, 1944. Pvt Henry M Jones was initially reported missing July 23, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France and was later confirmed killed in action on that date. He is buried at Old Good Hope Cemetery, Martinville, Mississippi.
