Paul Mark Kitsko, son of John and Anna (Mutchek) Kitsko, was born June 3, 1912 in Whitney, Pennsylvania. He married Anna Maria Constantine May 10, 1941 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and the couple had a son, John, who died in infancy. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was living in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and working at Daniels and Miller in Greensburg. He was inducted into the Army November 24, 1943 and arrived in the ETO July 13, 1944. He joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 48th Replacement Battalion August 13, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of Barenton, France and was promoted to Sergeant, Squad Leader, November 19, 1944. Sgt Paul M Kitsko was initially reported missing December 30, 1944 and was later confirmed killed in action on that date when he was struck by shell blast fragments while holding the high ground overlooking the town of Lutrebois, Belgium. He is buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg.
