134th Infantry Regiment - Company I

Vard David Kuebler, son of Bruce Garnet and Lois Bessie (Worden) Kuebler, was born September 26, 1915 in Nebraska. He married Bernice Buckman September 5, 1934 and the couple had a son, Donald Eugene Kuebler. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard, served as a Platoon Sargent in the Third Platoon, Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment, and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. T/Sgt Vard D Kuebler was killed in action July 18, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He is buried at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California.
