Eldon Lawrence Kyle, son of Boyd Weese and Irene May (Taylor) Kyle, was born May 9, 1923 in Elkins, West Virginia. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 and was inducted into the Army January 1, 1943 at Clarksburg, West Virginia. He served in the Second Platoon, Company C, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 5, 1944. He was promoted to Sergeant, Squad Leader, August 19, 1944. Sgt Eldon L Kyle was killed in action September 19, 1944 north of Nancy, France. He is buried at Elkins Memorial Gardens, Elkins, West Virginia.
