134th Infantry Regiment - Company I

Lucius E Lindsay, son of Robert and Maggie Ola (Killian) Lindsey, was born May 3, 1924. He was inducted into the Army December 14, 1941 at Charlotte, North Carolina. He served as a Scout in Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. He was wounded by shell fragments July 14, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France but remained on duty. He received non-battle wounds November 9 and returned to duty December 6, 1944. Pfc Lucius E Lindsay was killed in action December 15, 1944 by an artillery blast in the vicinity of Habkirchen, Germany. He is buried at Old Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, West Canton, North Carolina.
