Lyle E Lovelady was born October 6, 1907 in Malvern, Iowa and moved to Nebraska sometime after his birth. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard, mobilized to Federal Service December 23, 1944 at Omaha, Nebraska. He served as a Platoon Sergeant in the Third Platoon, Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. T/Sgt Lyle E Lovelady was initially reported missing and later confirmed killed in action July 18, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
