Bruce Stewart MacIntyre, son of James Harvey and Zola Leota (Stewart) MacIntyre, was born October 15, 1915 in Chatham, New Jersey. He married Gladys Marie Dickens May 30, 1942 and the couple had a daughter, Carol Lee. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was living in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York and working at the Ford Motor Company in Flushing. He was inducted into the Army May 3, 1943 at Newark, New Jersey and joined Company F, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion September 30, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of Armaucourt, France. He transferred to Company E October 9, 1944 and was promoted to Private First Class December 1, 1944. He was wouded by shrapnel December 15, 1944 in the vicinity of the Bannholz Woods in France but remained on duty. Pfc Bruce S MacIntyre was originally reported missing and was later confirmed killed in action by small arms fire December 31, 1944 300 yards east of Sainlez, Belgium. He is buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg.
