Sceal Magee, son of Richard Norval and Callie A (Butler) Magee, was born October 4, 1917 in Magee, Mississippi. He and his wife Marjorie Louise (Boney) Magee had a daughter, Sarah Lucille. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army January 4, 1944 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. He joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 48th Replacement Battalion August 13, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of Barenton, France. Pvt Sceal Magee was originally reported missing and was later confirmed killed in action by an artillery shell blast September 20, 1944 in the vicinity of Agincourt, a small town just northeast of Nancy, France. He is commemorated on the 35th Infantry Division Memorial at Agincourt, France and buried at Harmony Cemetery, Harmony, Mississippi.
