134th Infantry Regiment - Company K

August Jacob Malinofski, son of August and Augusta (Maleschevski) Malinofski, was born November 16, 1909 in Ramsey County, Minnesota. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 when he was 30 years old and working at the Consolidated Pole Company in Robinsdale, Minnesota. He was an Automatic Rifleman, in the Third Platoon, Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. Pfc August J Malinofski was reported missing July 15, 1944 in the battle for Hill 122 in the vicinity of St Lo, France and was later confirmed killed in action on that date. He is buried at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
