Robert Rodriguez Marquez, son of Daniel Gonzalez and Guadalupe Rodriguez Marquez, was born January 7, 1923 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was inducted into the Army January 11, 1943 and served as a Rifleman in the Second Platoon, Company E, 134th Infantry Regiment. He landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France July 5, 1944. Pfc Robert R Marquez was wounded in action July 17, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France and died of his wounds that same day. He is buried at Fairview Memorial Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
