Olin Lytelle McCurry, son of William and Ethel Lou (Ford) McCurry, was born June 16, 1923 in River Junction, Florida. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942. At the time he was living in Jacksonville, Alabama and working at the Profile Cotton Mill in Jacksonville. He was inducted into the Army November 11, 1943 at Fort McClennan, Alabama and joined Company B, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 86th Replacement Battalion July 20, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of St Lo, France. Pvt Olin L McCurry was seriously wounded in action July 30, 1944 in the vicinity of Torigini Sur Vire, France and died of his wounds that same day. He is buried at Four Mile Cemetery, Four Mile, Alabama.
