Bunnie J McKoin, son of Sherrod Thomas and Willie (Sharp) McKoin, was born September 26, 1919 in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana. He married Annie Viola Herrington in 1939 and the couple had a son, Larry Keith. He was inducted into the Army June 20, 1944 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana and joined Company H, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Heavy Machine Gunner from the 14th Replacement Battalion on December 21, 1944 while the unit was in the vicinity of Guebenhouse, France. Pfc Bunnie J McKoin was reported missing December 31, 1944 and was later confirmed killed in action by shrapnel from a shell blast January 5, 1945 in the vicinity of Lutrebois, Belgium. He is buried at Bonita Cemetery, Bonita, Louisiana.
