134th Infantry Regiment - Company L

Ralph Delbert McManaman, the son of Clifton Earl and Margaret Melanie (Fountain) McManaman, was born in Nebraska on November 30, 1920. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard and was inducted into Federal service on December 23, 1940. He served as a squad leader in Second Platoon, Company L, 134th Infantry Regiment. First reported missing in action, he was Killed in Action July 17, 1944 during the battle for St Lo, France when he was hit by enemy machine gun fire 800 yards south of Villiers Fossard, in a small orchard about 50 yards west of the main road. S/Sgt Ralph D McManaman is buried at Brittany American Cemetery, St James, France.
