Robert Britt Miller, son of Richard and Susie Miller, was born August 18, 1918 in Laurel Springs, North Carolina. He moved with his family to West Virginia in the mid-1920s and to Idaho in the early 1930s. He married Eva Emma Brothers May 9, 1938 and the couple had 3 children, a son Robert who died at birth, a daughter Sue, and a son Larry who died in early childhood. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army June 30, 1944 at Fort Douglas, Utah. He joined Company L, 134th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman January 8, 1945 while the unit was in the vicinity of Lutrebois, Belgium. Pfc Robert B Miller was originally reported missing March 26, 1945 and was later confirmed killed by machine gun fire on that date while advancing on enemy held houses in the vicinity of Vennemannshoff, about 8 miles north of Gladbeck, Germany. He is buried at Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
