James Aloysius Noice, son of Perry Joseph and Rose Frances (Evans) Noice, was born October 9, 1920 in Lancaster, Ohio. He was inducted into the Army September 25, 1942 and joined Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment July 17, 1944 from the 86th Replacement Battalion when the unit was in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He was wounded by shrapnel September 22, 1944 in the vicinity of Agincourt, France and returned to duty December 31, 1944. Pfc James A Noice was killed in action January 28, 1945 by concussion from an artillery/mortar blast in the vicinity of Heinerscheid, Luxembourg. He was originally interred at Luxembourg American Cemetery and was laid to final rest in 1948 at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio.
