134th Infantry Regiment - Company F

Earl George Olmstead, son of Harry Allan and Georgia E (Kidder) Olmstead, was born February 7, 1920 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He married Hilda Marie Pitts in 1939 and the couple had 3 children, Larry, Lana, and Linda. He registered for the draft July 1, 1941 and was inducted into the Army March 4, 1944 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He joined Company F, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion on September 21, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pfc Earl G Olmstead was seriously wounded by shrapnel December 31, 1944 in the vicinity of Marvie, Belgium. He was initially treated at the 134th Infantry Regiment's 2nd Battalion Aid Station then taken to the 110th Medical Battalion Clearing Station where he died of his wounds the following day, January 1, 1945. He is buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, East Liverpool, Ohio.
