Clarence Martin Otto, son of Herman Henry and Katharina (Frerichs) Otto, was born April 24, 1919 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He married Anna Wallman February 6, 1944. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940, was inducted into the Army February 18, 1941 and served in the Second Platoon, Company C, 134th Infantry Regiment. He landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France July 5, 1944. Pfc Clarence M Otto was seriously wounded by a shell blast July 15, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France and died of his wounds August 16, 1944 at an Army Hospital in England. He is buried at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pickrell, Nebraska.
