134th Infantry Regiment - Company H

William A Pais was born in Missouri in 1923. He was inducted into the Army January 14, 1942 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. At that time he was living in Granite City, Illinois. He joined Company H, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 83rd Replacement Battalion on December 19, 1944 and served as a Heavy Machine Gunner. He was promoted to Private First Class January 1, 1945. Pfc William A Pais was originally reported missing and was later confirmed killed in action January 5, 1945 by an enemy artillery blast 1 mile northeast of Sainlez, Belgium. He is buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg.
