134th Infantry Regiment - Anti-Tank Company

Floyd William Peterson, son of Clifford Alfred and Susie Bell (Lenox) Peterson, was born January 19, 1919 in Cherry County Nebraska. He served as a truck driver in the Second Platoon, Anti-Tank Company, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy on July 6, 1944. He was killed while driving a Jeep up a road in the Gremecey Forest northeast of Nancy, France when he was attacked by a German patrol and hit by an incendiary grenade. Pfc Floyd W Peterson died September 30, 1944 and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Valentine, Nebraska.
