Donald R Preeschl, son of Max William and Emma (Logghe) Preeschl, was born April 25, 1917 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He married Ethel Elaine Hamilton in 1941 and the couple had 1 child, a daughter. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was living in Miami, Florida and was inducted into the Army November 25, 1940 at Miami. He joined the First Platoon, Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion August 28, 1944 and served as Platoon Sergeant. T/Sgt Donald R Preeschl was killed in action when he stepped on a mine November 10, 1944 northeast of Nancy, France. He is buried at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.
