Walter Richard Price, son of Winfield Murrell and Gertrude Price, was born August 11, 1924 in Millville, New Jersey. He married Edwina Jane Haley on July 29, 1943. He registered for the draft December 15, 1942. At the time he was working at Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, Pennsylvania. He was inducted into the Army July 9, 1943 at Camden, New Jersey and served as a Rifleman in the Second Platoon, Company L, 134th Infantry Regiment. He landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France July 6, 1944. Pfc Walter R Price was killed in action July 25, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville sur Mer, France.
