Joseph J Pullara, son of Dominick and Frances (DeTello) Pullara, was born December 9, 1918 in Pueblo, Colorado. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army March 14, 1942 at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was originally assigned to the 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division, and was wounded in action on June 6, 1944 during the Normandy invasion. After recuperating from his wounds he was released from the hospital in October 1944 and joined Company L, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion on December 19, 1944. Pfc Joseph J Pullara was killed in action January 2, 1945 in the vicinity of Lutrebois, Belgium. He is buried at Roselawn Cemetery, Pueblo, Colorado.
