Hilario Renteria Rodriguez, son of Nieves Venegas and Simitria (Renteria) Rodriquez, was born January 14, 1924 in Grandfalls, Texas. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942. He was an Automatic Rifleman in the First Platoon, Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment and landed on Omaha Beach July 6, 1944. Pfc Hilario R Rodriguez was killed in action July 15, 1944 during the battle for St Lo, France. He is buried at Tamarisk Cemetery, Grandfalls, Texas.
