Otho Charles Ross, son of Lon Robert and Luvernia Ross, was born August 31, 1912 in Selmer, Tennessee. He and his wife Anne Mae Bell had one child, a son Charles Terry Ross. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940, was inducted into the Army March 21, 1944 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, and joined Company L, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion on September 21, 1944. Pvt Otho C Ross was killed in action November 17, 1944 in the outskirts of Morhange, France when he was struck by fragments from an enemy artillery shell. He is buried at Shiloh National Cemetery, Shiloh, Tennessee.
