Frank Sayeski, son of Peter Paul and Josepha Cecelia (Adamski) Sayeski, was born September 16, 1912 in Salamanca, New York. He married Theresa Marie Paoletto on September 23, 1941. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army July 20, 1944 at Buffalo, New York. He joined Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 48th Replacement Battalion on January 16, 1945, serving as a Rifleman, and was promoted to Private First Class on February 10, 1945. Pfc Frank Sayeski was killed in action February 26, 1945 by small arms fire while clearing out buildings in the newly captured town of Hilfarth, Germany. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
