Floyd Alvin Scott, son of Luther Alexander and Elva Mae (Bedwell) Scott, was born March 27, 1916 in Linton, Indiana. He and his wife Edith Virginia Targett had 3 children, Ruth Marie, Alvin Ray, and Robert Lee. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army March 27, 1944 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 83rd Replacement Battalion, December 19, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. He was promoted to Private First Class December 26, 1944. Pfc Floyd A Scott was killed in action January 9, 1945 in Belgium as the Company was driving the Germans from the town of Lutrbois, Belgium. He is buried at Fairview Cemetery, Linton, Indiana.
