Philip Franklin Sorrell, son of Daniel and Elsie Edith (Cardwell) Sorrell, was born January 5, 1923 in Jackson, Ohio. He registered for the draft June 27, 1942 and was inducted into the Army February 22, 1943 at Columbus, Ohio. He joined the Medical Detachment, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 654th Tank Destroyer Battalion on November 27, 1944, serving as an Aid Man attached to Company M. Originally reported missing, he was confirmed killed in action December 12, 1944 in the vicinity of Sarreinsming, France. Pvt Philip F Sorrell is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France.
