134th Infantry Regiment - Company K

Clifford Harold Stargardt, son of August Franz and Mary (Rohwer) Stargardt, was born March 4, 1919 in Omaha, Nebraska. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was working at the Ideal Cememnt Stone Company in Omaha. A member of the Nebraska National Guard, he was mobilized to Federal Service in December 1940, and served as a Platoon Sergeant in the Third Platoon, Company K, 134th Infantry Regiment. S/Sgt Clifford H Stargardt was killed in action July 30, 1944, west of Torigni sur Vire, France. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
