Harold Reynolds Starr, son of George Washington Luke and Loretta Margaret (Walthour) Starr, was born June 20, 1916 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. He married Dorothy Mildred Kunselman September 7, 1940. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army March 29, 1944 at New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. He joined Company B, 134th Infantry Regiment October 11, 1944 from the 38th Replacement Battalion and was promoted to Private First Class December 1, 1944. Pfc Harold R Starr was killed in action December 11, 1944 in the vicinity of Sarreguemines, France. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
