134th Infantry Regiment - Cannon Company

Fred Harsh Stauffer. son of Clyde Loyd and Amanda (Harsh) Stauffer, was born August 31, 1924 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He registered for the draft December 14, 1942 and was inducted into the Army February 13, 1943 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He served in the First Platoon, Cannon Company, 134th Infantry Regiment. Pfc Fred H Stauffer was originally reported missing and was later confirmed killed in action August 8, 1944 in the vicinity of Mortain, France. He is memorialized at Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and buried at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
