Charles Edward Taylor, son of Orange Sacket and Mary Elizabeth (Stolcup) Taylor, was born March 25, 1921 in Johnson County, Wyoming. He registered for the draft February 16, 1942. At the time he was living in Kaycee, Wyoming. He married Eulala Geraldine Hakert May 2, 1942 at Buffalo, Wyoming. He was inducted into the Army March 17, 1944 at Fort Logan, Colorado, joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion on September 20, 1944, and served as a Rifleman. Pvt Charles E Taylor was killed in action October 2, 1944 by artillery shell shrapnel in the vicinity of the Foret De Gremecey, Nancy, France. He is buried at Willow Grove Cemetery, Buffalo, Wyoming.
