134th Infantry Regiment - Company I

Clare Daniel VanBilliard, son of Morris H and Minnie M (Snyder) VanBilliard, was born December 9, 1924 in Wydnor, Pennsylvania. He registered for the draft December 29, 1942. At that time he was living in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and working at Bethlehem Steel Company. He was inducted into the Army April 4, 1943 at Allentown, Pennsylvania. He joined Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment from the 86th Replacement Battalion on July 20, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pfc Clare D VanBilliard was killed in action August 10, 1944 in the vicinity of Mortain, France. He is buried at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint-James, France.
