John Wesley Williams, Jr, son of John Wesley and Sadie Kathleen (Karcher) Williams, was born May 28, 1918 in Houston, Texas. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. 1st Lt John W Williams, Jr was a Platoon Commander, Second Platoon, Company D, 134th Infantry Regiment. He was killed in action July 15, 1944 during the battle for St Lo, France. He is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
