George Pierce Brown, the son of George and Nora Brown, was born November 22, 1916 in Mission, Texas. He attended high school and junior college in Edinburg, Texas and received a law degree from the University of Texas. He registered for the draft at Hidalgo, Texas on October 16, 1940. According to his draft registration he was 23 years old, 5' 11 1/2" tall, weighed 144 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair and a light complexion. He was drafted on May 13, 1942 and married Christine Bond on August 15, 1942. Prior to his military service he was an Assistant Hidalgo County Attorney.

2nd Lt George P Brown was a member of Company B, 137th Infantry Regiment. He was Killed in Action on July 14, 1944 in the battle for St Lo, France. He is buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Edinburg, Texas.
