Delmar Orville Henson, son of Frank and Sarah (Luscalett) Henson, was born September 25, 1919 in LeRoy, Illinois. He married Gladys May Folks September 17, 1940 and the couple had two sons, Carl Delmar and Orville Dean. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was working at the National Youth Administration (NYA) in LeRoy. He was inducted into the Army June 21, 1943 and joined Company A, 137th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 14th Replacement Battalion December 21, 1944 when the unit was at Habkirchen, Germany. Pvt Delmar O Henson was killed in action January 8, 1945 in the vicinity of Villers-la Bonne-Eau, Belgium. He is buried at Gilmore Cemetery, LeRoy, Illinois.
