Harry Jacob Jeffcoat, son of Clarence Henry and Jennie Mae (Hoke) Jeffcoat, was born July 4, 1915 in Adams County, Pennsylvania. He married Blanche Catherine Kint June 1, 1940. He enlisted in the Army May 3, 1943 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and joined Company G, 137th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman September 28, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of Gremecey, France. Pvt Harry J Jeffcoat was wounded in action November 8, 1944 by machine gun fire in the vicinity of Malaucourt, France and died of his wounds the following day, November 9, 1944. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
