John Daniel Kint, son of Walter Leslie and Elizabeth (Griesel) Kint, was born July 21, 1918 in Belden, Nebraska. He married Marjorie Magdaline Klocke in 1941 and the couple had 2 children, a daughter Dorothy Catherine and a son Robert. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was living in Laurel, Nebraska. He was inducted into the Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas July 21, 1944 and joined Company C, 137th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 53rd Replacement Battalion January 23, 1945 when the unit was at Conthill, France. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and promoted to Private First Class February 1, 1945. Pfc John D Kint was wounded in action February 19, 1945 in the vicinity of Heinsberg, Germany and died of his wounds that same day. He is buried at Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
