137th Infantry Regiment - Company K

Edward Joseph Kosinski, son of Bronislaw and Anna (Pawlak) Kosinski, was born September 15, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Marie Balentine on June 25, 1941. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 , was inducted into the Army December 6, 1943, and departed for the ETO sometime during June or July 1944. He joined Company K, 137th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 86th Replacement Battalion July 20, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of St Lo, France and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 1, 1944. Pvt Edward J Kosinski was killed in action August 10, 1944 in the vicinity of Mortain, France. He is buried at Britany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
