Arthur William Langfitt, son of John and Nila Jane (Knight) Langfitt, was born November 20, 1920 in Towner, Colorado. He registered for the draft February 12, 1942. At the time he was living in Bayfield, Colorado. He was inducted into the Army August 25, 1942 at Pueblo, Colorado and was a member of Company C, 137th Infantry Regiment. He landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 7, 1944, was promoted to Sergeant, Squad Leader July 21, and awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 1, 1944. Sgt Arthur W Langfitt was killed in action at Jallaucourt, France November 8, 1944. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
